We Did It X3

Today was a very eventful one. The day started out at 7 am when we went to pick up food and hygiene donations from different distributors. Red Rabbit has started up it’s food ministry again and we are very excited to be able to get back to feeding the community. All in all we picked up about 8,000 lbs of food and distributed about 5,000 lbs of it this afternoon. We were able to feed the people out north at Hammer Ranch Shopping Center and the Slough out south. While we were at the shopping center, we picked up mail and the decision from our court trial was in the P.O. Box. I was shaking as I read the decision and in the end, WE PREVAILED! It was determined that Plaintiff broke tenancy laws and that Red Rabbit Advocacy will retain possession of the building we have been using as a home base for over a year now. This has been a crazy road but we succeeded. God is good and his blessings are clear in our victories and accomplishments today. We built new friendships with the Food Bank that we are very grateful for as well.

I saw a message on Nextdoor and went to try and make contact with a woman that is living in her car and see how we can help her. When I arrived, she was no longer in the car, so I left a bag of food and a note so that she will hopefully reach out for some help. I then reached out to Stockton Shelter for another client that has fibromyalgia and is living in her tent, to try and get her into the shelter. I am hoping that there will be room tomorrow as we plan on picking her up and transporting her to the shelter. I went on to take a turkey donated by Safelite to a client’s house to cook for us and picked up another at Good Samaritan Center and got a wonderful prayer session! Headed to the warehouse after that to pick up some clothes, food, blankets, toilet paper to pass out to some people.

Finally wrapped up the day meeting with a good friend of mine at Misaki’s sushi bar. I have been supporting Misaki’s since day 1 and I am grateful that they are supporting Red Rabbit Advocacy by placing one of our flyers in the window. Our goal is to raise awareness of our cause, mission and need. I love our community and am excited what God is doing in all of our lives to make it a happier and healthier place to live.
